Teens Get Creative during Teen Reading Lounge at the Altoona Library

Teen Reading Lounge is finally here and the young adult participants are having a great time. So far they have had a group discussion on the book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and have created movie posters and designed their very own "peculiar" picture of themselves. These teens are getting to experience the Altoona Library's new Creation Lab through this program as well. The teens are led by Altoona Area Junior High School's Instructional Literacy Coach & Reading Department Chairperson Julie Storm. She has brought great insight into their discussions of the book and has been a big hit with the teens. If you are interested in joining the Teen Reading Lounge group, its not too late! The next sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays, February 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 3:30PM to 5:30PM. The next book discussion will be the second book in the Miss Peregrine's series, Hollow City. Get a free copy of the book to keep for your very own. Sign up today by calling Amy at 946-0417 x129 or stop in at the Library.
