Library Board

Our Board of Trustees of the Altoona Area Public Library actively promotes the services available at the library and through its Outreach programs. The Board members are advocates of libraries and reading. The Board reaches out to the community businesses and agencies to get involved with the library and the services it offers.

Board members are appointed for 3 year terms and may serve 2 consecutive terms. The Bylaws require that after 2 years a member may not be reappointed for 1 year. All positions on the Board are volunteer and uncompensated. One member of the Board or a person appointed by the Board serves on the Blair County Library System Board.
