Teens Get Creative during Teen Reading Lounge at the Altoona Library

Teen Reading Lounge is finally here and the young adult participants are having a great time. So far they have had a group discussion on the book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and have created movie posters and designed their very own "peculiar" picture of themselves. These teens are getting to experience the Altoona Library's new Creation Lab through this program as well. The teens are led by Altoona Area Junior High School's Instructional Literacy Coach & Reading Department Chairperson Julie Storm.

Teen Reading Lounge is Coming!

What is it? TRL is an interactive book club for teens in grades 7-12. There will be book discussions, snacks, and art activities featuring the Library's new creator lab (we have a 3-D printer)! Also, there will be a kickoff pizza party on January 14th at 3:30PM and a talk about Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. What an awesome book. Plus, everyone who participates gets a free copy of each book the club reads. Sessions are as follows: January 14, 21, 28 and February 4, 11, 18.
