DIY String Light Mason Jar
This program has a one time fee of $7 per kit. This cost must be paid in advance. This Make & Take project is for Adults 18+. Please fill out the form below in order to receive a DIY String Light Mason Jar kit. Pick up between July 12-16 at either the Altoona Area Public Library on 5th Avenue or the Transportation Center Satellite Library (1231 11th Avenue). Teens of the Altoona Area Public Library are invited to sign up for our Bookend Painting Program to be held outside the library (1600 5th Avenue location) on July 7th from 10am – 11am. Teens will be able to paint one bookend each and label it with their initials. The bookends will then be displayed on the library shelves when we’re open to the public.

RAIN DATE: JULY 9th at 10am.

Miss Rachel will be holding a paracord bracelet event for teens on June 25th at 3pm outside the Altoona Area Public Library. Registration is required by calling 946-0417 ext 125. This program is $3.00 and limited signups are available.

Come learn the science behind animal survival. We’ll investigate the funny and the weird of survival of Pennsylvania animals! This program will be held at the Logan Valley Mall (2nd floor, across from the food court) and is perfect for children in 2nd – 6th grade. Spice it Up is held on the 3rd Monday of every month. Each month we will be featuring a different spice. Pick up your free spice sample, make a dish with it, and share your recipe with others during our virtual meeting.

Falconry with Jody Wallace, the Creature Teacher

Meet a real falcon! Experience how birds of prey and people cooperate to hunt live game. Learn about the unique features that make the falcon such an excellent hunter. This is an all ages program that will be held at the Heritage Plaza in Downtown Altoona, weather permitting. A unique one-on-one lap-sit program for children 12-24 months and caregiver. Due to social distancing requirements, space is very limited and registration is required for each 4 week session.
