Teens of the Altoona Area Public Library are invited to sign up for our Bookend Painting Program to be held all day on November 29th. Teens will be able to paint one bookend each and label it with their initials. The bookends will then be displayed on the library shelves. Stop in at anytime (during business hours from 8:30am – 8pm) on November 29th during the day off from school. Limit is 1 bookend per teen.

Join us for a day full of choices as you write your own story in our Choose Your Own Adventure-themed Super Saturday! Travel around to different stations collecting book pages as you decide which hero to create and which path to follow. Hello Cowboys and Cowgirls! Giddy up to the Altoona Area Public Library for the coolest book signing event featuring the love of horses. Altoona’s own author/illustrator Rachel DiAndrea invites you and your family to “lasso your signed copy” of the new release children’s book, THE FAT HALFIE. This delightful new release features Annie Fannie, a little horse destined to find her true calling. We all dream of someday owning a Pony. Rachel will be joined by Melony Wagner from Shadow Acre Stables to teach kids some galloping fun facts and pony fun activities about the real Annie Fannie. Come learn about the real Annie Fannie, along with the fun and responsibilities of horse ownership. Experience an evening of Pony fun! Dreams do come true.

If you would like to join us for November’s A.R.F., it will be held on November 13th from 2pm – 3pm in the Youth Room. Children ages 5 & up (plus caregivers) are invited. Sign up for a 10 minute time slot to read with a very special four-footed friend from the Central PA Humane Society. The animal friend for this program will normally be a dog, though a cat might come in place of the dog. You may bring a favorite book from home or choose one of our books.

Teens (ages 13-18) will be able to create their own unique cup by marbling it with nail polish. This is a FREE program but pre-registration is required. This event will be after school on Nov 10th from 3:30-4pm. The cup will need a longer time to dry than to create.
