This is a FREE program appropriate for children in grades 3rd – 6th grade.
Rocks and Minerals is a 4 week science unit where we will explore the similarities and differences between many samples. We will perform tests similar to geologists’ field tests to determine hardness, luster, streak, and other identifying properties. We will learn how some of these materials are used in our daily lives as well as their interesting history. In an effort to protect the health and safety of our patrons and staff, adults and children over the age of 2 are required to wear masks at all indoor library programs. Activities will be spaced out and limited to the number of active participants. Crafts will be individually set up with no sharing of materials, or will be bagged to be taken home.
