The Altoona Area Public Library serves as the District Center for the Altoona District. The Altoona District is made up of a cooperative membership of 13 libraries including libraries in Bedford, Blair, and Huntingdon Counties that serve over 155,000 residents.
As the District Center, the Altoona Library provides support and consulting services, programming, and various resources for all of the libraries in the 3 counties. One of the many services that the Altoona District Center offers is Interlibrary Loan which enables patrons in any of the 13 libraries to borrow materials from libraries across Pennsylvania and beyond.
The District Center also supports the District e-book and e-audiobook collection that a patron with a library card from any of the 13 libraries can access and enjoy on their mobile device or tablet.
